The proposed development consists of 21 affordable homes designed to Passivhaus standards. The scheme is located in east Manchester on a brownfield inner city site.
The project consists of a mixture of semi-detached & terraced housing arranged to create a new street. The proposed streetscape is to be developed using a ‘shared space’ philosophy.
The dwellings are to be constructed using the affordable & sustainable off site manufacture of key components including the building shell which is assembled using panelised timber frame components.
The dwellings are narrow fronted, deep plan ‘townhouse format’ & designed to satisfy HCA design standards.
