Architect
The Role
We are looking for someone who is already based in the UK and close enough to commute to our office in central Leeds.
In this role, you will be responsible for planning and designing buildings and land areas with regard to functional and aesthetic requirements, budgets and timescales. Within this role, it is important to maintain effective working relationships, understand where your skillset fits within the team and collaborate with colleagues to achieve the best outcomes for the project.

Due to our continued growth and expanding portfolio, we have an exciting opportunity for an Architect to join our creative and friendly team in Leeds.
Key Responsibilities
Take receipt of a brief from a GWPA Manager and with only limited intervention from them, develop it into a design in line with the RIBA Plan of Work
Contribute to and help co-ordinate the development of GWP's Pre-Construction Information in line with the RIBA Plan of Work and GWP's Deliverables and DRM
Achieve efficient and effective designs using robust and sustainable design solutions
Prepare compliant designs by following UK Construction Law, British Standards and relevant CoPs
Choose or advise on material selection
Author specifications using GWP's NBS Masters. Source and evidence supporting and up-to-date technical information from manufacturers
Participate in Project Reviews and coordination workshops
Assist in gathering and preparing information required to support statutory submissions, such as Planning, Building Regulations and Building Safety Gateways (where relevant)
Negotiate with statutory bodies, write reports and complete statutory submissions (Planning Applications / Gateway submissions / Building Regulations etc.)
Attend meetings and workshops with Clients, Designers, Contractors, and other Specialists
Support the Project Lead with the maintenance of the Design Risk Registers
Use Document Control on your project(s) in line with GWP Protocols

Your Skills
ARB registered Architect with ideally a minimum of 2 years UK experience
Proven commercial and contractual awareness
You will ideally have cross sector experience
Advanced knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign and other digital imaging tools
A minimum of two years of using Archicad (ideally)
