RICS Conference

GWPA was invited to present a case study on the Palace Theatre in Swansea during this year's RICS conference in Cardiff. We shared key learnings from the ongoing refurbishment project, highlighting some fascinating discoveries and unexpected challenges we've encountered so far.

Our discussion focused on strategies to navigate these challenges while adapting buildings to meet modern needs and achieve net-zero targets, in line with the broader themes of the conference. Associate Director Ben Parish presented alongside Claire Deacon, a Historic Building Surveyor from Marloes Conservation, who shared her insights on the use of lime in Pembrokeshire vernacular architecture.
