Rialto House: York Student Scheme Starts on Site

Exciting progress is underway on Rialto House, a premier student accommodation project in York. Main contractor GMI Construction is currently working on site, transforming the former Mecca Bingo Hall on Fishergate.

Developed by Olympian Homes in partnership with Cain International, this four-storey building will feature 275 high-quality student bedrooms across over 80,000 sq ft. Residents will enjoy a range of amenities, including a gym, yoga studio, cinema, games room, co-working spaces, group dining areas, and landscaped courtyards.

Additionally, the project's name pays tribute to its history as a cinema that once hosted The Beatles in 1963. Set for completion in 2025, Rialto House aims to address York's critical shortage of purpose-built student accommodation, the highest in the UK, while being conveniently located just a short bus ride from the University of York.
