The Penderyn Whisky company identified the Hafod-Morfa Copperworks site in Swansea as a new base for a Distillery and Visitor Centre. The proposed site forms also an integral part of the wider masterplan for regeneration of the historically significant Hafod- Morfa Copperworks.

The central focus is the creation of a new visitor attraction, being the first phase of the regeneration. This will involve the renovation of existing Grade II listed structures and some adaption to facilitate a new Whisky Distillery and Bonded Barrel Store, to be connected within a restored landscape area by a contemporary new-built Visitors Centre element.

This project is being delivered alongside Swansea Council, and is HLF Lottery Funded. Following recent planning approvals, the works due to commence on site during 2019
