GWPA is a team of architects, sustainability specialists, space planners, and interior designers. Founded in 1980, the practice has offices across the UK and works extensively in England, Wales, and Scotland.

Our experience spans a wide range of building types in both public and private sectors, including residential, affordable housing, PBSA, BTR, Co–living, extra care, healthcare, commercial, food, drink, pharmaceutical, leisure, racecourses, universities, museums, and industrial/warehouse/distribution.

We prioritise long-term client relationships and work collaboratively to deliver commercially viable projects that meet specific needs. We approach each project with an open mind, avoiding pre-set ideas to explore opportunities for added value throughout design.

Sustainable, low-energy buildings are central to our philosophy. We design for sustainability from concept to completion, creating solutions with economic, social, and environmental benefit. Our in-house Passive Haus team has delivered several Passive Haus/zero carbon projects and applies sustainable strategies across all scales.

We’re successful at securing planning consents and regularly take on complex or sensitive schemes. Our team has extensive experience with Grade I, II and II* listed buildings, supported by in-house Conservation Accredited Specialists. Our designs have earned numerous architectural and conservation awards.
