Primary Care Centre, Haworth
Forming part of the Bradford and Airedale NHS LIFT initiative, the new build Howarth Pimary Care Centre provides enhanced care and treatment facilities to accompany the relocation of existing GP practices within the village.
The steeply sloping site (located in a conservation area within the historic background of Haworth), includes prominent vistas across the adjoining valleys. The building plan is organised to form smaller scale ‘cluster’ elements in keeping with the scale of Howarth’s historic ‘footprint’. The layout is also articulated to provide views from within the waiting areas located throughout the scheme.
A number of specialist primary care services and specialist GP practitioners are incorporated in the scheme, alongside administrative offices and minor surgery provision.
A series of affordable rented housing units are provided to the upper second floor level which ultimately are designed to provide potential expansion space to the care centre in the future.
