We are very pleased to announce our Blackrock Street affordable housing project has been certified to the Passivhaus Classic building standard by the Passive House Institute in Germany.

Congratulations to the whole team on this great achievement, making the project one of only a handful of buildings to achieve this standard in Manchester. The scheme now sits alongside our Annie Lee Close affordable housing scheme and Leeds Met Carnegie Village as fully certified projects completed by the practice.

Blackrock Street is a sustainable affordable housing scheme for provider One Manchester built using modular panelised prefabricated construction methods with excellent thermal comfort, energy efficiency and air quality. The Blackrock Street project delivers the highest levels of energy efficiency alongside being a zero carbon prototype scheme following the UKGBC zero carbon pathway (see link to case study on the UKGBC website).
