The Penderyn Whisky Distillery and Visitor Centre at the Hafod Copperworks in Swansea has won this years RICS Awards (Wales) in the Heritage Category!

Representatives from the client and design team attended the awards ceremony held at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff. Winning the award was the culmination of over 7 years of work for the practice, assisting the client Swansea Council through the Heritage Lottery process, planning, detailed design & construction.

The scheme includes the restoration of two grade II listed buildings, that were once part of a pivotal hub in the copper industry, along with the addition of a contemporary extension. The scheme opened last Summer and the transformative impact is already acting as a catalyst for wider regeneration, promoting a cultural legacy and fostering a renewed sense of local pride.
