PASSIVHAUS INTERN

We are currently hosting Sadaf Fatima (far right), from the Alexander Humboldt Foundation in Germany, during a month’s internship. Sadaf, a current German Chancellor Fellow 2014-2015, has recently spent several months’ at the Passivhaus Institute in Darmstadt, Germany and at a Passivhaus project on Tenerife, Spain. She is working with several members of staff from both GWP Project Services and GWP Architecture during her time in our Leeds office.

Sadaf’s studies have lead her to research ways of bringing Passivhaus to hot and humid climates in a cost effective way. She approached GWP to learn more about our experiences with the Building Research Establishment’s (BRE) Environmental Assessment Methodology (BREEAM) and our approach to sustainable design to allow her to compare this with her previous work on Passivhaus. GWP hope this collaboration will develop new areas of research for the practice and opportunities for future projects.

GWP Architecture has developed a track record of producing affordable, architecturally designed buildings that conform to the highest BREEAM requirements, delivering BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ on four schemes to date.
