GWP Architecture and GWP Project Services continued a tradition of international research visits by travelling to the EU’s finance capital Frankfurt, which also combined attendance at the International Passivhaus Conference and a visit to Dahmstadt & Heidelburg commonly known as the home of Passivhaus.

Senior members of GWP and clients were given a guided tour of the Bahnstadt area of Heidelburg where examples of Passivhaus Residences, Schools, Offices, Retail units, Fire Stations and a Science Laboratory are nearing completion in a large scale regeneration project funded by a combination of regional development initiatives and private finance with assurances pledged by the German government.

The trip was considered a resounding success and follows previous such visits to Copenhagen, Venice, Edinburgh, Prague and London.
