Plaza CEW Conservation & Regeneration Award

We are please to announced that the Plaza mixed use development in Port Talbot, Wales won the Conservation & Regeneration Award at Fridays CEW Awards.

The scheme which opened last year for tenant YMCA and the client Neath Port Talbot CBC provides a series of new spaces for the benefit of the local community.

The development retains the recognisable, Grade II listed art deco-style iconic front portion, which contains the foyer, projection room, offices, two retail units, stairs and toilets of the existing cinema. These elements have been sympathetically repaired and restored with some careful and considered adaptation of the building.

The new portion to the rear houses a multi purpose hall, café, gym, multi purpose dojo / yoga room, digital recording studio and office space.

The project was completed on site by BAM Construction, with Structural and MEP consultants from Hydrock and Asbri Planning as planning consultant.
